Event Details

The Lincoln County Library Board of Trustees invites you to a celebration of Black History.

This program aims to celebrate the achievements of African Americans in Lincoln County. This year, we honor Mr. Aaron Williams, the first African American man to build a house in the Friendship community of Brookhaven. His grandson, Mr. Aaron Thompson, will share insights into his grandfather’s life and accomplishments.

The First Achiever's Exhibit, curated by Mrs. Maxine Allen, is on display throughout February. This exhibit highlights the notable contributions of African Americans from Lincoln County.

Additionally, enjoy a musical performance by Dr. Jessie Primer III, Chairman of the Music Department and Associate Professor of Music at Tougaloo College.
