Annie Bell Richardson Lewis

- Graduated Alexander High School and completed Lincoln County Teacher Training
- Worked as alterations seamstress at Gulley’s Men’s Store
- Moved to Wheaton, Illinois where she assisted her husband in his building and construction contractor work
- Received interior/exterior design training and began to assist with blueprints and the entire building process
- First African Americans in Brookhaven to build a housing development
- Developed Peco Village (near Mullins School) with their home as first house in the development
- Member of St. James Church
- Member of AARP and served as a poll worker
- Married to James Calvin Lewis, 1 son
- Died May 1, 2013
