- 1952-58 served as head football coach at Alexander High School
- 1958-1981 served as principal of Alexander Junior High School
- 1981-1986 served as assistant superintendent
- First African American appointee to Co-Lin Community College District Board of Trustees
- Member of St. James Missionary Baptist Church – Deacon’s Ministry, Trustee Ministry, Board of Directors, Finance Chairman, Adult Sunday School Teacher, Organizer of the Brotherhood
