Mississippi Public Libraries are bound by the 1State of Mississippi Records Retention Schedules for Libraries. In addition to these guidelines, Lincoln Lawrence Franklin Regional Library adds the following restrictions:
- Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) grant files and supporting documentation (payments, reimbursements, emails, digital content) will be kept for 4 years following the closeout of the Mississippi Library Commission’s associated LSTA grant period.
- Schools and Libraries Program of the Universal Service Fund (E-rate) funding files and supporting documentation (payments, reimbursements, emails, digital content) will be kept for 10 years plus the current year.
- Documentation to substantiate reporting of federal statistics to the Mississippi Library Commission will be retained for three (3) fiscal years plus the current year.
